1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, running the software, or logging into the Point of Sale terminal of Kelra, you agree to comply with and be legally bound by these Terms of Service. If you are operating the system on behalf of a grocery store, supermarket, pharmacy, or retail business, you represent that you have authority to bind that business entity.
2. Software License Grant
Subject to these Terms, Kelra grants your business a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to deploy and utilize the system to:
Scan product barcodes, ring up retail sales, print thermal receipts, and accept card, cash, and QR payments.
Maintain warehouse and retail shelves, log purchase orders, set low stock thresholds, and register suppliers.
Calculate cost of goods sold, profit margins, sales taxes/VAT, and daily operating expenses.
Assign individualized cashier credentials with isolated roles and checkout logging.
3. Accounts & Staff Role Duties
The system provides three predefined tiers of access:
- Store Administrator: Full control over store settings, catalog additions, staff password resets, and profit reports. Administrators are responsible for safeguarding master login credentials.
- Store Manager: Authorized to oversee inventory restocks, supplier purchase orders, and customer credit ledgers.
- Cashier: Restricted to the POS Terminal checkout screen. Cashiers may not modify product cost prices, access backend settings, or wipe audit logs.
4. Sales Calculations & Cash Discrepancies
Kelra calculates sub-totals, discounts, VAT/taxes, change due, and inventory deductions automatically based on the parameters set by the store administrator.
Physical cash drawer counts, counterfeit bill detection, and physical stock theft remains the sole responsibility of the store operator. The software's daily shift reports serve as an accounting guide and audit record.
5. Local Hardware & Power Protection
For on-premise retail installations, reliable hardware operation requires appropriate store infrastructure:
- Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS): We strongly advise powering POS counters through a battery backup / UPS to protect SQLite/MySQL database transactions during power outages.
- Printer & Scanner Compatibility: Ensure hardware adheres to standard USB/ESC-POS protocols as outlined in our Hardware Support Guide.
6. Intellectual Property
The Kelra application, source code, UI designs, and brand marks are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or resell the core platform without express written permission.
7. Termination & Data Portability
You may discontinue use of Kelra at any time. Because your store data belongs to you, you retain the right to export all sales history, customer records, and product inventories prior to discontinuing service.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Kelra and its authors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from hardware malfunction, barcode scanning errors, network interruptions, or loss of retail profits.
